Symptoms:

  • Engine stall on engagement
  • Increased RPM during acceleration
  • No lockup
  • Overheated fluid
  • Poor fuel economy
  • Poor lube oil control
  • Poor performance
  • Ratio codes

Cause:

The OE lockup control plunger valve and sleeve wear allowing hydraulic pressure to escape. The reduced or absent pressure allows pressure deviations preventing proper control of TC and lube functions.

Correction:

Restore proper hydraulic control by refurbishing the bore and replacing worn OE lockup control plunger valve and sleeve with Sonnax drop-in components.
