Symptoms:

Jerking on coastdown
High engine RPM
Engine stall on engagement
No lockup
Harsh engagement

Cause:

The OE lockup control plunger valve and sleeve wear allowing hydraulic pressure to escape. The reduced or absent pressure affects the timing and quality of the lockup clutch apply and release action.

Correction:

Replace the worn OE lockup control plunger valve and sleeve with Sonnax lockup control plunger valve kit.
