Sonnax mechanical diode CH-MD-1 one-way clutch offers much greater strength than existing roller clutches and dog-leg style sprags. The mechanical diode is ideal for use with torque converter stators in high-horsepower drag racing vehicles. Sonnax offers CH-MD-1 for Chrysler TF6/904 applications using the Opel 3.25" I.D. stator. Made from hardened S7 tool steel, CH-MD-1 features the small 27-tooth spline and comes with a one-year warranty from date of purchase. This mechanical diode is not designed or recommended for street use.
This unique design for a one-way clutch assembly known as the "Mechanical Diode®" (MD) was developed by Epilogics, Inc. in 1991 and was first introduced to torque converter rebuilders by Sonnax in 1997. The MD overrunning clutch, or freewheel, offers much greater strength than existing roller-ramps and sprags.
