Symptoms:

  • Downshift bind-ups
  • Flare shifts
  • Excess clutch overlap & clutch distress
  • Pressure control out-of-range codes

Cause:

The clutch control valve provides source pressure for control of clutch apply and release. Responding to TCU and the linear solenoid, the clutch control valve establishes control timing of apply and release relative to engine torque. Bore wear will cause an overlap or premature exhaust of clutch pressure.

Correction:

The Sonnax oversized clutch control valve, boost valve and sleeve correct circuit pressure loss and restore control timing of the clutch control A valve.

You need this if...

A vacuum test at the inner port does not hold 18 in-hg of vacuum. If the outer port does not hold 16 in-hg of vacuum, but the inner port does hold 18 in-hg, use either this oversized kit 95740-09K or clutch A control boost valve and sleeve kit [95740-21K].
