When the torque converter clutch (TCC) is engaged in listed Chrysler units, line pressure from the pressure regulator valve is directed straight to the TCC apply circuit, through the TCC switch valve, applying full line pressure to the TC clutch.

In worn or performance-enhanced transmissions, pressure can reach 160 psi or higher, potentially deforming or ballooning the torque converter. This deformation can negatively impact drivability, efficiency, and overall performance.
