Symptoms:

  • Burnt clutches
  • Low line pressure
  • Line pressure instability
  • Shift concerns

Cause:

Continuous oscillation of the pressure regulator valve results in excess bore wear, causing erratic line pressure and/or restricting converter feed oil.

Correction:

The Sonnax drop-in pressure regulator valve has extended spool lands to operate in unworn areas of the bore, restoring proper line pressure control for renewed shift feel and performance.

Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated fails to hold the recommended minimum in-Hg, or if wear is visually detected.
