In Jatco/Nissan JF016E (RE0F10D) units, the primary pulley reducing valve controls and maintains oil pressure to the primary pulley actuator as influenced by the primary pulley solenoid. A worn bore or valve spool can cause loss of oil pressure control to the primary pulley actuator. Symptoms that may indicate degraded primary pulley reducing control are: chatter on acceleration, high or low pressure at the primary pulley actuator, pulley breakage and slippage in Forward and Reverse. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized primary pulley reducing valve kit 33510N-03K can restore optimal oil pressure to the primary pulley actuator.
Sonnax valve body layouts provide a detailed overview of individual units making it quick and easy to determine what’s available for the specific valve body you’re working on. See all Sonnax valve body layouts.
Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated fails to hold the recommended minimum in-Hg, or if wear is visually detected.
