Aisin Seiki AS68RC transmissions often suffer failure of the K2 clutch assembly due to limited capacity. Sonnax K2 clutch backing plate kit 99582-02K includes a backing plate that is .170" thick at the outer diameter to increase clutch pack axial length but is thicker than OE plates at the inner diameter to increase stiffness and minimize plate flex that undermines clutch durability. Also included is a thinner backing plate retaining ring to help set clutch clearances.
