Anatomy of a Transmission: Oil Flow in the Pump-PR-Converter-Cooler Lube Circuits
Gregg Nader
Common problems with Ford 6R140 transmissions include TCC apply and release concerns, TCC codes, burnt TCC lining, overheated fluid and lube failures. In extreme cases, converter release may be prevented, resulting in engine stalling. These symptoms can be caused by pressure loss due to excess wear at the TCC charge limit valve and bore. Reconditioning the bore and installing Sonnax oversized TCC charge limit valve kit 126740-01K restores hydraulic integrity of this circuit for renewed TCC and lube operation.
Sonnax valve body layouts provide a detailed overview of individual units making it quick and easy to determine what’s available for the specific valve body you’re working on. See all Sonnax valve body layouts.
