The Mercedes 722.6 transmission uses clutch-to-clutch transitioning during shifts, so timing is very critical to prevent shift complaints like flares or bind-ups. The overlap control valves, controlled by EPC (modulated pressure) and shift valve pressure, are used to gradually reduce the pressure to the disengaging clutch. Bore wear at the overlap control valve or the plunger valve sleeve can prevent proper clutch exhaust and disrupt the critical clutch-to-clutch timing.
Sonnax oversized 1-2/4-5 overlap control valve kit 68942-19K has slightly longer critical spool diameters and optimized annular groove placement for better hydraulic sealing and to prevent future bore wear.
Sonnax valve body layouts provide a detailed overview of individual units making it quick and easy to determine what’s available for the specific valve body you’re working on. See all Sonnax valve body layouts.
