Symptoms:

  • Code 62, 628, 1744
  • Engine stall on engagement in Reverse
  • High line pressure
  • Engine stumble on engagement in Reverse
  • Overheated converter

Cause:

OE valve can restrict converter charge and cooler flow due to wear, and/or insufficient balance oil keeps the PR valve in the high line pressure position.

Correction:

Sonnax drop-in pressure regulator valve has a patented internal line-to-lube passage with anti-drainback check valve that allows full-time flow to the cooler circuit, yet prevents dainback.

You need this if...

Vacuum testing at the port(s) indicated fails to hold the recommended minimum in-Hg, or if wear is visually detected.
NOTE: Values are with OE valve in place. Due to integral line-to-lube design in the Sonnax pressure regulator valve, vacuum testing may not be possible without modification.
